Eleanor Roosevelt's autograph, signature and signed letters are very available for today's admirers because of her great personal involvement in numerous subjects, causes and concerns during her long life. As the wife of the New York Governor, Eleanor Roosevelt set out to pursue her own life and identity and she had the social network in New York, and her own personality, to succeed. When Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected to the White House, Eleanor Roosevelt expanded her interests, and network throughout the country, taking up many causes, but most importantly pursuing her own cause of an independent, intelligent woman establishing her own identity. She generated large numbers of people writing to her, and she always seemed to respond, giving very thoughtful comments when appropriate.

Eleanor Roosevelt's Signed Letters

Eleanor Roosevelt's signed letters from the World War II era occasionally have very personal advice for the many people who wrote to her about their problems and concerns. She dealt with fears in very honest, straightforward ways and had the time to respond to letters that her husband could not. Eleanor Roosevelt's letters signed after the White House are different in content but very available. Both as Ambassador to the United Nations and in her later private life, she continued to have numerous interests and to write about them frequently.
