HENRY VIII

[HENRY VIII]. King of England. An English legal document written during the reign of Henry VIII, one page, folio [5 1/2 by 9 3/4 inches], on vellum, December 7, 1535. A quitclaim from William Arandale to John Dolyff for a half acre parcel of “arable land in Charleston...in a certain place called Sedecroft.” The lease, written in Latin in a diplomatic charter hand, also bears a dark red wax pendant seal with the impression of the letter “W.” With a full transcription. Fine condition.
