Italian operatic composer Giuseppe Verdi's autograph, signatures and signed letters have been sought after and treasured by fans of his operas since his first success in the opera houses of Italy. Verdi's autograph and signature were pursued by the public whenever he appeared, though his autograph and signature are not as available as one might imagine. The demand and interest of today's opera fans far exceed the examples that become available.

Giuseppe Verdi would, in rare instances, write out a few bars from a favorite opera and add his autograph signature. He gave these autograph musical quotations signed to close friends and they are not frequently encountered.

Giuseppe Verdi's Signed Letters

Guiseppe Verdi's signed letters are, at times, more frequently encountered than autographs, signatures and autograph musical quotations signed. The composer's letters reflect his involvement in every aspect of the creation of his operatic works and his letters on occasion have discussed his early ideas that eventually became reality on the stage. The composer was very involved in rehearsals for his operas that were developed for the stage and every detail concerning rehearsals came into his view. Verdi also dealt with the performers in his operas and it has seemed, at times, that his operatic performers were competing with him in creating their own dramas within his operas! When his operas were on stage he continued to concern himself with every detail. His musical letters have always been collected by university libraries and specialist collectors. Verdi's signed letters concerning many other aspects of his life are more frequently available.
